Role Description
A Network Engineering position providing support to SMBC Americas Division with a responsibility on Capital Markets and Nikko. Responsibilities include network infrastructure and telecom, delivering uninterrupted business operation, performing scheduled maintenance, and ownership of projects and implementations. Main areas of expertise include: switching, routing, security, automations, load balancing, cloud and logistics.
* After business hours and weekend work will be required. Work in shift schedule will be expected.
Role Objectives
1. Provide 2nd level support on daily network infrastructure issues reported by Service Now platform.
2. Perform analysis of alerts and events reported by network management platforms and work with senior staff on resolution.
3. Work on assigned network infrastructure projects.
4. Provide support during system installations across all sites.
5. Provide support to other IT teams on day-to-day support request and during project implementation.
6. Maintain working condition of network infrastructure in Tralee “Telecommunication Rooms” and its associated components.
7. Facilitate meeting with vendors to support network infrastructure components.
Qualifications and Skills
* 5-8 years of professional experience.
* Strong knowledge in configuration and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco, F5, Gigamon).
* Strong knowledge of routing protocols OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, NAT, LACP, CDP, UDLD, VPC, DNS, DHCP.
* Understanding of network design for LAN, MAN, WAN, SD access, SD WAN, WiFi networks.
* Strong knowledge on troubleshooting networking issues OSI layers 1-7 across data, voice and video.
* Knowledge on network management platforms: Cisco ISE, Cisco DNAC, Solarwinds, Logic Monitor, NetBrain.
* Knowledge on automation via Ansible and Python.
* Ability to support mixed data, voice, and video networks.
* Capability of performing and complete tasks and projects independently.
* Ability to perform copper and fiber cable structure work.
* Knowledge on configuration and support of cloud infrastructure components.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report on incidents, support tasks and projects.
* Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
