The People Services team provides shared HR support throughout the employee lifecycle, ensuring an excellent employee experience. As part of De Beers Group, you will deliver key services to the business and broader People function, aiming to make the lives of those you work with brilliant.
Job Description
This role delivers professional HR Advisory support to key stakeholders and colleagues. You will interface with stakeholders and People teams to provide advisory support across brands and sites, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with De Beers Group values. You will build strong relationships and advise on organizational change, employee relations, and people-related issues, including employment, compensation, and benefits. The role will report to People Services Manager based in Gaborone.
Key Tasks:
1. People Operations:
1. Support People agenda projects (culture, behavior, organizational change).
2. Interface with the wider People Operations team to ensure smooth operations.
2. Compliance and Legal:
1. Monitor legislation changes and ensure compliance.
2. Maintain Employee Handbooks and Policies in line with local laws.
3. Support statutory documentation and question business scenarios from an immigration and tax perspective.
3. People Partner and ER Support:
1. Provide first-level advice on key people management/HR processes.
2. Develop and maintain People processes and procedures.
3. Support the roll-out of People initiatives and consistent implementation of People strategies.
4. Leadership Development:
1. Contribute to the coaching and development of business stakeholders and line managers by providing ER advice and guidance.
2. Support the development of leadership training material.
5. Employee Communication and Engagement:
1. Support People initiatives and the Employee Engagement Survey process.
2. Assist in the delivery of local training (e.g., on ER processes).
6. Talent Attraction:
1. Conduct process reviews to identify improvement opportunities.
2. Role model the right behaviors and contribute to a positive work environment.
Qualifications
1. Relevant tertiary qualification – preferably a degree in Human Resources/Industrial and Organisational Psychology
2. 5 years demonstrable HR Advisor or similar experience is a requirement.
3. Experience with SuccessFactors HRIS, and Microsoft Office.
4. Strong analytical and data management skills.
5. Good knowledge of ER management with pragmatic solutions.
