UCD wishes to make a new academic appointment in the subject area of Biomedical Engineering at the interface of artificial intelligence (AI), digital technologies and 'One Health'. The person appointed will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in research and teaching in Biomedical Engineering and the innovative application of engineering to health and healthcare delivery. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates working at the interface of AI/digital technologies and health, whose research is complementary to research and teaching in Biomedical Engineering at UCD. The application of AI and data analytics in human sensing and robotics has been identified as an area of strategic interest to complement current research at UCD in robotics, prosthetics, wearable and implantable biosensors, biomechanics and medical devices. It is expected that the successful candidate will develop an ambitious personal research programme and profile, while participating fully in the academic activities of the Schools, College and University. In addition, it is expected that the appointee will have the qualifications and experience to deliver high quality teaching in core subjects in biomedical engineering, contributing to the bachelors and master degrees programmes. The successful candidate will be expected to build strong links with the UCD College of Health and Agricultural Sciences and with the new Gosset Institute in AI and digital technologies.
