Facilities Manager Grade VII (Reporting to the CEO)Location: West Cork (Location to be determined with successful candidate)Overall Purpose of the Position:CoAction West Cork CLG (known hereafter as CoAction) is a Section 39 agency under the Health Act 2004 which provides supports and services to children and adults with disabilities in West Cork. Services provided include residential services, day services, respite services, home support and multi-disciplinary supports in West Cork. CoAction celebrated it’s 50 year anniversary in 2024 and has incrementally expanded in 50 years and now operates services in over 25 buildings across the region, with an expectation for this to increase in the next five years.CoAction are seeking to employ a facilities manager who will have the responsibility of integrating our people and process with our buildings and technology structures. The successful candidate will have the responsibility for all aspects of building and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure inclusive of maintenance, cleaning, transport, project planning, capital developments and IT. The purpose of which is to support the smooth operations of the service to enable us to meet the needs of the people we support and supporting the strategic planning of organisation to enable the growth which is forecast.Main Responsibilities:The roles and responsibilities of the post will include:Management of the maintenance, cleaning, waste disposal, utilities, IT, transport and security of properties including the oversight and management of contracts and providers of these services, where applicable.Ensuring that basic facilities, such as water, heating and light are well-maintained and operating.Responding to and resolving issues which may arise in the infrastructure of our services inclusive of situations which require immediate responseIn conjunction with the finance team, managing department budget inclusive of pay and non-pay costs while adhering to the National Financial Regulations and Procurement requirements.Promote the health, safety and wellbeing of the people we support, staff and visitors by ensuring that CoAction facilities and services are compliant with legislative requirements, health and security standards and energy efficiency requirements.Planning for future needs, forecasting the services upcoming needs, developing and implementing plans to meet those needs by supporting the development of and responsibility for the Capital Strategy of the organisation inclusive of the project management of new capital projects and the renovations/refurbishment of existing properties.Support the adaptability, flexibility and sustainability of the organisation inclusive of identifying areas for efficiency and cost savingsPromote the Sustainability of the organisation inclusive of the development of a Green StrategyEnsuring that CoAction adheres to the General Data Protection Regulations and supports the legal obligations of CoAction inclusive of Freedom of Information, Open Disclosure, Subject Access Requests and responses to Parliamentary Queries, Public Representations and Compliments and ComplaintsProviding assurances to the CEO and the Board of Trustees inclusive of the preparation of formal reports at agreed intervals and as the need arisesEssential Qualifications & ExperienceRelevant qualifications can include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant area such as a BSc in Facilities and Workplace Management, a BSc in Building Services Management or a related field, a property management or construction-related degree or a business related degree.
