About the Role
The Health Care Assistant plays a vital role in engaging daily activities and routines within our Residential Services, including direct support to individuals, administration work, and household tasks.
Purpose of the Role
As part of a dedicated team, the Health Care Assistant works to provide specialist services 24/7, adhering to HIQA regulations and standards. Working hours are operated on a shift basis, which includes sleep-ins and waking night duty as required.
Main Responsibilities
* Assist with activities and care as assigned by the Manager and outlined in the Integrated Care Plan, ensuring high-quality care delivery.
* Encourage individuality and prioritize the needs and comforts of those we support, as well as their families.
* Act as an advocate for individuals and their families, providing relevant information and support.
* Foster social interaction through one-on-one and group settings.
* Maintain awareness of equipment usage, safety precautions, and handling procedures.
* Participate in communication processes, including team meetings, staff forums, and other essential discussions.
* Provide personal care when required, upholding confidentiality at all times.
* Be flexible and willing to work shifts to meet service needs.
Requirements
* Relevant QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification or equivalent.
* Minimum 1 year experience in a similar environment supporting adults or children with intellectual and physical disabilities.
* Knowledge of complex needs in adults/children.
* Full manual driver's license, eligible to drive in Ireland.
* Eligibility to live and work in Ireland.
