Job Overview:
Reporting to the Director (Distribution Operations), the Operations Manager (Distribution Centre) is responsible for the coordination and execution of the following key Distribution activities against corporate metrics:
The Role:
1. Ensuring maximum customer delivery performance is obtained.
2. Responsible for leading and managing the distribution team operating globally against corporate requirements.
3. Provide support to Engineering, Production and Inventory functions, through mentoring, developing and leading teams to support fulfilment of company goals.
4. Leading the EHS team and to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.
5. Partner with Quality to ensure compliance with ISO:9001, ISO:14001 and ISO 27001 Standards.
6. Develop means of continuous improvement as well as implementing standardized processes and procedures that can be replicated across global DCs.
7. Act as a key point of contact and escalation for both internal teams looking to resolves issues referred by internal or external stakeholders.
8. Pro-actively manage the organisations distribution centre performance versus the current industry standards, trends and practices.
9. Management & Development of key performance indicator.
Qualifications:
10. Degree in a technical related field (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc) or Degree in any discipline combined with sufficient experience in the industry.
Experience:
11. Proven experience (5-10years) as an Operations leader in a similar industry with a minimum of 3 years managing team in a distribution/manufacturing or related business.
12. Ability to develop stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively with wider teams and functions with a customer focused approach.
13. Possess an excellent understanding of commercial business processes, process improvement and automation.
14. Strong communications skills
15. Good understanding of data analytics.
16. Must be able to demonstrate personal leadership experience and understand the importance of positive employee engagement.
17. A solutions focused mindset, able to identify issues, propose solutions, and think beyond your day-to-day remit while maintaining a drive for high standards and time-bound results
18. Solid understanding of health and safety practices.
19. Proven track record of successful continuous improvement project implementation/execution.
