Job Description
We are seeking a Senior PCB Designer to join our team in Little Island, Cork, Ireland. As a Senior PCB Designer, you will be responsible for providing skilled and advanced design duties from work orders involving highly complex technical design concepts with a wide range of products that require diversified knowledge.
You will be exceptionally creative with far-reaching design capabilities, have above-average initiative, and be able to make correct decisions regarding the best way to carry out assignments.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist Engineering in reference or investigative work related to product design development.
* Handle complex design/documentation, exercising considerable judgment in design and layout.
* Train others in computer techniques, standards, symbols, nomenclature, engineering terms, and proper use of tools, reference books, and specific work areas.
* Interact with AEs PCB and PCBA vendors to produce manufacturable and cost-efficient parts.
* Discuss job requirements and coordinate outputs/approvals directly with person(s) for whom work is being performed.
* Schedule, create, and verify completed work, checking documentation outputs, BOMs, and CAM files.
* Attend meetings to gather information, identify, and implement solutions.
* Continues to research the development of current industry technology and disseminate it to other personnel.
* Train and/or supervise other designers.
Requirements
* Excellent knowledge of industry standards, such as IPC and Compliance Regulatory listings (UL, CSA, etc.).
* Excellent knowledge of computers and CAD techniques.
* Advanced computer skills with Advanced Energy defined ECAD software (Altium).
* Ability to use considerable judgment in design and layout using industry standards and good DFX (design for manufacturability and test) standards.
* Ability to manage multiple assignments.
Experience
A minimum of seven years of design/documentation experience or equivalent experience and/or education is preferred.
Educational Requirements
H.Dip or Technical Institute Diploma is essential.
