The Indirect Tax Manager shall provide indirect tax advice to business units throughout Parexel globally. The Indirect Tax Manager shall assist with developing Parexel’s global indirect tax strategies and their implementation. The role will also focus on assisting Legal & Risk Management (LRM) and business operations in respect of indirect tax clauses for Parexel's contracts, mostly Master Service Agreements, Agreements for Services and Clinical Site Agreements. In addition, the Tax Manager will be responsible for special projects. The role involves taking a proactive, leading role in identifying opportunities and risks for Parexel globally. This role will support our internal teams and take a team leadership role in mentoring and developing less experienced team members.
In this role, you will:
* Provide Indirect Tax advice to the Legal and Contracts teams in reviewing Parexel’s contracts and draft suitable clauses to minimize Parexel’s Indirect Tax exposures without jeopardizing the commercial rationale for the contracts. Support the smooth implementation of Parexel’s contract strategies.
* Provide Indirect Tax advice for business units throughout Parexel globally.
* Assist with the developing the Indirect Tax control framework. Implementing and training stakeholders throughout the organization on the policies.
* Proactive, leading role in identifying Indirect Tax risks and opportunities for Parexel. Support in-country VAT audits working with the Controllers team and external tax advisers. Assist with the management of all Indirect Tax litigation while keeping LRM fully informed of all developments supported by external legal counsel.
* Support the optimization of Oracle and other systems used to produce the Indirect Tax return data to optimize the Indirect Tax set-up and processes, working internally and externally across the business units.
* Identify systems and processes optimizations and lobby their implementation.
* Work closely with the Indirect Tax Compliance Team, controllers and external tax providers to ensure that all transactions are properly reflected on local VAT/GST returns and to support business transformation tax planning.
* Preparation of training guides for colleagues who are involved in data entry impacting Indirect Tax accounting, specifically Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, Investigator Payments Office (IPO).
You will have:
* 8+ years of relevant Indirect Tax experience within a large multinational or international professional services organization.
* The ability to work independently and manage and motivate team members.

* Excellent communication skills (English, both written and verbal) including the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

* Working knowledge of Oracle eBusiness Tax helpful but not essential.
* Willingness to travel (albeit not expected to be regular feature of the role).
Education:
* University Degree in Business, Accounting, Law or other relevant discipline.
* Professional Qualification as Accountant / Chartered Tax Advisor / Solicitor / Barrister preferred.
