The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping group strategy and executing M&A across each of Uniphar’s three divisions.Main duties & responsibilitiesDevelop and execute the corporate development strategy of the group in line with Uniphar’s strategic goalsIdentify and cultivate strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support corporate growth initiativesBuild and lead a dynamic corporate development team, fostering a culture of high performance and collaborationCommunicate development strategies and progress to executive leadership and the boardLead the end-to-end process of transactions and other inorganic strategic projects including origination, appraisal, valuation, negotiations, due diligence, documentation and post-closing actionsDeal origination:Identification of potential M&A targets by leveraging multiple streamsLead initial screening / commercial due diligence on target companies in order to assess projects for investmentDeal ExecutionBuild the investment case including the strategic rationale for investment and accompanying financial modelsPresenting to Board and / or senior managementResponsible for coordinating the due diligence streams across the transaction (Commercial, Legal, Tax, Finance, IT, Compliance, HR, Insurance)Responsible for negotiating key deal terms and ensuring appropriate legal documentationManaging and coordinating external advisorsIntegrationLeading the integration of the acquired entity, liaising with divisional teams, conducting periodic investment reviews to report progressOn-going monitoring of acquired companies and assisting implement recommendations as may be identified/requiredActively partake in other strategic initiatives throughout the groupActively support the Investor Relations function including attending investor conferences and meetingsQualifications & ExperienceStrong commercial acumen with experience leading M&A transactionsMinimum of 10 years' experience in a relevant industry role (Corporate Development / Corporate Finance / M&A / Investor Relations / Advisory / Healthcare)Relevant financial qualifications (i.e. ACA, ACCA, CPA, CFA)First class academic track recordStrong financial modelling, valuation and project management skillsKeen and well-informed interest in M&A and Capital Markets with a demonstrated history of continuous developmentHealthcare industry experience a bonusCompetenciesSelf starter, adept at working independently and collaboratively when neededPositive can-do attitude, displays high level of appetite, flexibility, accuracy, speed, delivery and reliabilityExcellent analytical skills (numerical and written)Good range of interpersonal skills to influence internal and external stakeholdersStrong attention to detail, with ability to challenge and question across all level of an organizationFlexible and considerate team player
