Staff officer accountant

Job Description:

The Department for Communities-Housing Finance Branch within the Housing & Sustainability Group is seeking a Staff Officer Accountant to join their team.

* Provide in-year budget management and monitoring, including preparation of monthly reports for senior management and input to the departmental Management Board Stewardship Report.
* Prepare monthly Outturn Forecast Outturn return and HSG (NIHE) Monitoring Round returns.
* Engage with stakeholders to ensure value for money in resource use and capital budgets.
* Review business cases and appraise NIHE Budget Submissions.
* Manage monthly Cash Drawdown and review consolatory payments, losses, and write-off cases.
* Assist with audit queries, Assembly Questions, Accountability updates, and Freedom of Information requests as required.


Requirements:

A professionally qualified accountant with at least one year's experience gained in the last five years in a finance-related environment.
