CLINICAL NURSE MANAGER - RESIDENTIAL SERVICES - SPECIFIC PURPOSE CONTRACT WTE 1.0 The Royal Hospital Donnybrook is a 178 bedded HSE Section 38 hospital that provides Post-Acute, Stroke Rehabilitation, Neurorehabilitation and General Rehabilitation services, Day Hospital services, Respite and Residential Care services to adults.
There is currently one permanent SPC whole-time position available in The Royal Hospital Donnybrook based in the Residential Service.
A panel may be formed for The Royal Hospital Donnybrook from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part time duration may be filled.
The successful candidate may be required to work in any service area within the vicinity as the need arises.
Candidates must have at the latest date of application: - Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition: (i) Be a registered nurse, or be eligible to be registered, in the division relevant to the practice in which the application is being made on the Register of Nurses and Midwives held by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NBMI).

And (ii) Have at least five years post registration nursing experience including a minimum of two years experience in older persons, dementia, rehabilitation, general medical.
And (iii) Two years management experience at CNM1 level or above And (iv) Have completed a post graduate qualification relevant to the role.
And Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

Annual registration (i) Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the appropriate/relevant Division of the register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NBMI).

And (ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with the NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
Post Specific Requirements Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience/involvement in evidence-based care, developments in older persons services and an interest in gerontology and rehabilitation.
Purpose of the Post The post holder will work within the residential service inpatient units.
The CNM2 will:
Manage resources, lead the ward team and be accountable for the nursing activity and outcomes of care.
Function as a role model, promote best practice in the delivery of care, and provide clinical expertise andsupport in the interdisciplinary team.
Support assist and facilitate colleagues in achieving positive outcomes as developed for the ward, unit, or department.
Encourage a culture of openness and participation through effective communication.
