What is the opportunity?
The role offers the opportunity to work in an exciting and growing area within Bank of Ireland and the wider financial service sector. Operational Resilience is defined as the ability of a firm, and the financial services sector as a whole, to identify and prepare for, respond and adapt to, recover and learn from an operational disruption.
As a part of the Bank of Ireland Group Resilience and Continuity (GR&C) team, Operational Resilience Managers will have responsibility for a number of key deliverables which aim to enhance the bank's overall Operational Resilience.
The role also offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure and experience of Operational Resilience while working with senior managers across the bank.
In this role you will:
* Implement the Operational Resilience Policy and Technical Guidelines across the Group and work with the business to continually improve as appropriate.
* Review and challenge the Group's existing approaches to business continuity and develop a strategy which aligns with the Group's Operational Resilience framework, provides the most efficient use of resources, and is aligned with regulations.
* Support and advise on the Group Operational Resilience strategy with a particular focus on enhancing Business Continuity capability with the wider Group Resilience and Continuity team.
* Support the Group in transitioning from Operational Resilience programme activities into a continually improving business as usual operating model.
* Work with Important Business Service owners to develop and continually improve the effectiveness of the Group's Operational Resilience capability with a particular focus on Business Continuity.
What will make you stand out?
Operational Resilience is a relatively new concept which brings together Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and Resilience Management among other disciplines.
Experience with Operational Resilience or a similar field is not essential to apply for this role, but will make you stand out!
Significant experience as a Business Continuity specialist in a similar capacity, preferably in the financial sector, with operational knowledge of recovery and resilience processes will give you an advantage.
Strong social skills and a proven track record in building and maintaining strong working relationships with multiple senior partners are important and will give you an advantage.
The ability to provide intellectual rigour to risk assessment, development of business solutions, and decision making within Operational Resilience, as well as experience in Operational Resilience regulations & guidelines, make you an attractive candidate.
You understand, identify, and pragmatically influence the risk-based approach to mitigation and monitoring.
