About the Role
This position involves working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure construction projects are delivered to a high standard. The successful candidate will provide assistance to engineers regarding site work and play a crucial role in Construction Management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to review all design plans, specifications, and drawings.
* Conduct surveys to ensure new installations meet design, safety, and quality requirements.
* Ensure construction is in accordance with design documents and that containment can be installed in a coordinated manner.
* Coordinate with subcontractors to schedule system installations.
* Witness testing of new installations.
* Compile handover and "As built" documentation for various projects.
Construction Reviews & Compliance:
* Review technical service routing drawings to ensure compliance with project intent, building codes, and industry standards.
* Identify potential conflicts between systems and resolve them before installation.
* Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and safety standards.
On-Site Supervision:
* Oversee system installations on-site to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
Communication and Liaison:
* Act as the point of contact between the project team, subcontractors, and clients.
* Facilitate coordination meetings to align parties on design changes, timelines, and expectations.
Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:
* Proactively identify potential problems with construction before they occur.
* Troubleshoot issues during construction, ensuring quick resolution to avoid delays.
Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain records of designs, specifications, and installation progress.
* Prepare reports on project status, key issues, and milestones.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a reasonable standard of education, experience in construction, and knowledge of contract procedures.
A recognised apprenticeship in a building or construction craft is essential, along with five years of supervisory and practical experience in complex building projects.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to interpret architectural drawings are also required.
