We are currently recruiting a Maintenance Engineer who will be responsible for providing technical support to the maintenance, operations and project departments on equipment maintenance and reliability matters for a pharmaceutical client in Cork.
Responsibilities
1. Monitor day-to-day performance of systems and troubleshoot performance trends, anticipating, solving or escalating problems as appropriate.
2. Perform maintenance and improvement work on all equipment to enable full operations schedule adherence.
3. Support the Preventative Maintenance program by carrying out effective maintenance routines and repairs to prolong the useful life and optimize the efficiency of equipment.
4. Support new product introductions and the introduction of new equipment.
5. Be responsible and accountable for the safe accomplishment of activities to all statutory, environmental, regulatory (cGMP), corporate site and department practices and procedures.
6. Contribute to equipment design, construction, commissioning and qualification activities.
7. Provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel and other departments as required.
8. Develop maintenance procedures and equipment files, assisting with generation, review and revision of maintenance documentation as necessary.
9. Develop and manage the critical equipment list.
10. Analyze equipment data to report on equipment performance.
11. Develop, standardize and implement the latest maintenance approaches and techniques.
12. Develop a root cause failure analysis system.
13. Eliminate recurring equipment problems through engineering solutions.
14. Support investigation and resolution of problems.
15. Familiarize yourself with daily activities in all areas of the Maintenance department.
16. Deputize for the Maintenance Manager as necessary.
17. Rotate with other positions in the department, as required.
18. Foster an environment of continuous improvement.
19. Lead investigations in the work area as necessary.
20. Interface with the Manufacturing department (Supervisor, Manager and Director level).
21. Contact the Quality, Logistics and Training departments.
Qualifications
1. A Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Process Engineering is required.
2. Reliability and/or Maintenance experience within a process or pharmaceutical cGMP regulated environment is essential.
3. Experience of best practices in preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, maintenance planning, reliability engineering, RCM or FMECA is desirable.
4. Knowledge of Delta V, PLC, SCADA and SAP systems is preferred.
