Key Services Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to key services provided to Food Drink Ireland (FDI) members. The successful candidate, in consultation with the Deputy Director of FDI, will ensure the key public affairs objectives of FDI and its product associations are met. Working within the FDI team, this executive role is a key contributor to delivering on members' needs.
About the Role
* Management of the FDI Public Affairs Group
* Association-specific responsibilities for the Irish Bread Bakers Association; Chocolate and Confectionary Association of Ireland; and the Irish Breakfast Cereal Association.
* Act in a secretariat capacity ensuring meetings are held regularly, appropriate minutes and papers are prepared and action plans implemented.
* Representation activities on behalf of member companies on general food and category-specific issues including health & diet and industry reputation.
* Drafting of member updates, stakeholder communications and position papers.
* Support the planning and execution of public relations and public affairs campaigns, in liaison with members.
* Development of contacts and networking with relevant members, policy makers and other stakeholders.
* Liaison with relevant European sectoral associations.
* Communication with member companies on a range of policy issues.
* Be an active member of the overall FDI Team ensuring the objectives of the Sector are met.
* Carry out other duties as identified and agreed with the Director and Deputy Director of FDI that are in keeping with the overall purpose of the position.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
* Primary degree in a relevant discipline
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications an advantage
Knowledge
* Business and public policy issues facing the food and beverage sector in Ireland, EU, and globally
* The Irish and EU policy environment for food and beverages and its implications for the sector
Experience
* Minimum 2 years relevant postgraduate experience (relevant – industry, agency, or policy)
* Experience of working with teams and operating at a high level
* Experience of working with committees/working groups and operating at a high level (desired)
* Communications experience including presentations and managing meetings (desired)
