MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Delivery Driver will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of our bathroom products to our client base in a professional and timely manner across the North and South of Ireland. The role of a Relief Delivery Driver is to be fully flexible to cover all routes across the North and South of Ireland. The shift will start each day at 6am; however, the successful candidate will need to be fully flexible to cover driving duties to 6pm if required. When not driving, the successful candidate will work in the warehouse from 5.30am – 3.00pm.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
This role will involve the following responsibilities:
* Loading and unloading delivery vehicles and containers.
* Providing exceptional customer service to our client base.
* Reviewing orders prior to delivery.
* Obtaining delivery confirmation to our client base using handheld devices.
* Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
* Ensuring the van is clean and ready for the next delivery.
* Carrying out risk assessments and daily safety checks on the van.
* Following all applicable traffic and transportation regulations, including driving within speed limits, proper use of seat belts, and adherence to vehicle weight limits.
* Complying with company policies and procedures regarding vehicle operation and safety.
* Moving stock around either by hand, using lifting equipment or a forklift truck.
* Inputting data into our computer systems.
* Assisting with stock takes.
* General warehouse maintenance duties.
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a similar role.
* Full Driving Licence.
* Good geographical knowledge.
* Strong Customer Service and Communication Skills.
* Experience of manual handling.
* Good time keeping and attendance record.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Willingness to follow all health and safety guidelines.
* Willingness to work overtime and be flexible to work different shifts as necessary.
* Willingness to undergo any internal/external training that may be required.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Forklift Truck Licence.
* Previous working knowledge with Kerridge or other WMS/ERP systems.
* Delivery Planning Experience.
