Role Purpose
A new systems engineering position is available within the engineering team at InnaLabs. The candidate shall be a self-motivated individual with an ability to work independently across a wide range of disciplines, and with an aptitude to self-manage tasks and assignments. Additionally, strong cross-functional collaboration skills are essential.
The role will involve assisting with design, test and documentation for gyroscope systems for space programs. The ideal candidate is an all-rounder with a mix of experience in electronic design, hardware test, data analysis and software development. An understanding of classical mechanics is an advantage.
The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary engineering team responsible for designing complex measurement systems. Day-to-day activities will include work on system specifications, project documentation, system interfaces, system analyses, and system tests.
Key responsibilities of the role
* Review and analysis of customer requirements.
* Hardware test at electronic and system level.
* Environmental testing, including mechanical load testing, thermal test, and EMC tests.
* Definition of test plan and test procedures.
* Contribute towards design solutions to determine compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
* Collaborate with other members of the InnaLabs team on product and/or system design.
* Liaise with hardware and FPGA designers, and 3rd party vendors.
* Write technical documentation including specifications, technical notes, compliance matrices and reports.
* Develop and maintain system-level program documentation.
* Participate in all system and subsystem integration and acceptance testing.
* Attend meetings and create technical presentations to share with customers.
Experience & Qualifications
* 3-5 years’ experience in a similar systems engineering role.
* University degree in engineering.
* Fluency in English (verbal and written) is essential.
* High level of attention to detail.
* Ability to interpret and/or analyse schematics for electronic designs.
* Knowledge of various types of sensors and how they interface with electronic systems.
* Knowledge of analogue and digital electronics, and an understanding of the boundaries between them is an asset.
* A good aptitude for mechanical reasoning.
* Relevant experience in product/system design and test.
* Familiarity with test lab environment, including expertise with test instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, and network analysers.
* Familiarity with European Cooperation for Space Standardization (ECSS) and/or previous experience with working on aerospace projects would be an advantage.
* Willingness to work on documentation for prolonged periods.
* Knowledge and practical experience with: Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink.
