SEND Teaching Assistant - Mainstream School - Waltham Forest, East London
Long Term Futures is working closely with a well-regarded mainstream school in Waltham Forest to appoint an experienced and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant. This full-time role is perfect for someone who has supported pupils with additional needs in either a Primary or Secondary setting and is confident delivering focused support to learners with EHCPs.
You'll play a crucial role in helping pupils with a range of special educational needs including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties, enabling them to access learning and thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with EHCPs in line with individual needs
* Work closely with the SENCo and class teacher to deliver tailored interventions and adaptations
* Use visual aids, communication tools, and structured routines to support students with ASD and speech/language needs
* Assist in managing pupils with ADHD or behaviour regulation difficulties, helping to maintain a calm and supportive learning space
* Monitor progress and contribute to review meetings and EHCP updates
* Build strong relationships with children and act as a trusted adult throughout the school day
* Support students both in the classroom and during unstructured times (breaks/lunchtimes)
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Experience supporting students with SEND needs such as ASD, ADHD, or speech/language difficulties
* Understanding of inclusive practices, EHCPs, and personalised learning
* Confidence working with pupils who may present with challenging behaviours or sensory needs
* Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with staff and families
* Relevant qualification (Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care, or SEN-related training) is desirable
