Medforce are delighted to have partnered with one of the most prestigious orthopaedic hospitals in Ireland to recruit a Senior Dietician for a Two-year specified purpose contract in a Hospital based in North Dublin. Our client delivers expert Adults Rehabilitation and Orthopaedics Services to patients, bringing together skills, knowledge and expertise to deliver cutting-edge treatments.
The Senior Dietitian is an experienced professional with strong clinical and academic skills in providing care to rehabilitation patients in a multidisciplinary setting. This role requires good organisational abilities and a keen interest in developing management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert nutritional assessments and individualized care plans for adults and older persons in rehabilitation, focusing on enhancing recovery and functional independence.
* Deliver specialized dietary advice to patients undergoing elective orthopaedic procedures, supporting optimal recovery and healing.
* Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and medical staff, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Conduct nutritional assessments, create and implement evidence-based interventions, and monitor patients’ progress in both acute and rehabilitation settings.
* Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff on the importance of nutrition in recovery, prevention, and long-term health.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols related to nutrition in rehabilitation and orthopaedic care.
* Participate in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives to ensure best practices in nutritional care.
* Provide mentorship and support to junior dietitians and other healthcare staff as required.
(Full-time/Specified Purpose-2-year minimum term)
Applicants should:
* Hold BSc in Human Nutrition & Dietetics or a recognised equivalent and be registered with CORU.
* Have a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in the delivery of clinical nutrition & dietetics services and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an acute healthcare setting.
* Have knowledge & understanding of Specialist Older Person’s rehabilitation, Orthopaedic inpatient services & Orthopaedic rehabilitation.
* Relevant post graduate qualification/ training is desirable.
* Membership of relevant Clinical Interest groups is desirable.
* Experience of being involved in clinical audit, service evaluation and research is required.
* Have proven organisational and case load management skills.
* Ensure a holistic, patient-centred approach in their practice.
* Have the ability to work independently as a standalone clinician while contributing to patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
* Have excellent interpersonal skills & verbal and written communication abilities.
