Head of Finance
A leading role in the development of a robust financial management system to support strategic objectives and enhance overall financial stability.
The Head of Finance will lead the Finance team, responsible for ensuring key functions operate efficiently and effectively.
The role involves engagement with a large range of stakeholders.
The Head of Finance will be a member of the Executive Management team.
Accountabilities
1. Contribute to the Executive Management Team on strategy and day-to-day operations.
2. Lead, mentor, and manage the Finance team to achieve performance targets and professional development.
3. Articulate a vision to colleagues, external stakeholders, and the Board of medium- and long-term plans for the function.
4. Build enhanced relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
5. Recruit and develop team members to achieve high performance supporting growth strategy execution.
6. Align each team's goals with objectives and strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
1. Drive a strong financial control culture and ensure a robust accounting framework across end-to-end financial processes.
2. Oversee accurate financial and budgeting reports production (e.g., annual/interim financial statements, monthly finance reports, budgets, and forecasting).
3. Provide comprehensive information to the Senior Leadership Team and Board.
4. Lead Treasury management policies and operations, including funding lines to support strategic objectives, maturity, and interest rate risks.
5. Evaluate areas for enhancing processes and procedures through performance monitoring.
6. Oversee finance function operation.
7. Manage year-end audit with Comptroller & Auditor General.
8. Coordinate regular and accurate monthly financial reporting, annual, and interim financial statements.
9. Identify and evaluate financial risks, supporting the Head of Risk and Governance in delivering a financial control assurance environment.
10. Stay up-to-date with upstream financial reporting developments and support timely adoption of new accounting pronouncements and codes of practice.
11. Lead digital transformation of the finance function to support organisational growth.
Requirements
* Qualified accountant with high numeracy, financial acumen, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
* Minimum 15 years' experience working in relevant Finance roles.
* Experience working in similar Finance roles.
