About the Team & Business Line:
The Network operations engineers report to the Network Team Lead, and fulfill mainly a day-to-day operations and support role. They maintain close interaction with many other global and local IT operations groups, application support teams, and development staff worldwide. They also work routinely with telecommunications carriers, network gear manufacturers and other providers. This position focuses on network infrastructure support, day to day operations, but also implements small projects such as hardware refreshes and build out of the network for new offices.
Your Role:
Worldwide level 1 and level 2 support for the network infrastructure
Responsible for the maintenance, monitoring and ongoing support of the global Citco network, including WAN and LAN at the datacenters, remote offices worldwide, and external clients.
Manage chronic problems to closure
Show good common sense and decision making criteria
Troubleshooting within the network scope and outside into other technology areas in assistance of other IT groups
General network maintenance: software upgrades/patching of network devices (firewalls, routers, switches, SDWAN, etc)
Abide by established processes, procedures and policies
Participate in the on-call support rotation
Flexibility with working shift
Travel potentially up to several times per year
About You:
Strong knowledge and experience in the following areas and technologies:
TCP/IP protocols (TCP, UDP, FTP, GRE, IPsec, etc.)
OSPF multi-area.
BGP v4 (iBGP and eBGP).
Cisco routers, branch office to datacenter grade
Cisco Switching (Nexus, Catalyst and Meraki)
IPsec site-to-site VPNs, and remote access VPNs using Ivanti and Palo Alto Global Protect.
Firewalling, access lists, protocol inspection.
LAN switching, Spanning Tree protocol, VLANs, dot1Q trunking, LACP port-channels, vPC, VSS.
QOS on the LAN and WAN.
Wide area network circuits and services (MetroE, MPLS, etc.)
Clear understanding and proven experience on implementing network hardware redundancy.
Other helpful skills:
Vmware Velocloud SDWAN.
F5 load balancers (F5 Big IP) or other load-balancer platforms.
Palo Alto firewalls and their administration using Panorama.
Solarwinds experience
Dynamic routing interaction with ISPs using BGP.
Clear understanding of how network monitoring using ICMP and SNMP.
Operational experience with TACACS+/Radius authentication systems (Cisco ISE).
Experience with Netflow analysis and using Netflow collectors.
Basic user level knowledge of Linux operating systems.
Basic knowledge of cloud computing and cloud networking
Minimum three years’ experience working in a similar network role
