About Us
National Broadband Ireland (NBI) will be the designer, builder, and operator of the ultrafast broadband network for rural Ireland. It was established by Granahan McCourt (GMC), an international investor in technology, media, and telecommunications with 30 years of experience partnering with governments, corporations, and people to drive the development of communications infrastructure.
NBI has presented its vision for world-class, gigabit-speed broadband for every home, farm, school, and business in areas of the country which are not fully served by commercial operators (the "Intervention Area"). National Broadband Ireland will supply broadband to one quarter of Irish people and premises which currently cannot access high-speed broadband through commercial services. It guarantees a level playing field for 1.1 million people, 540,000 premises including 100,000 businesses and farms, and over 600 schools.
Key Objectives / Accountabilities:
NBI is looking for an experienced Sourcing Specialist who wants to jump in head-first and help scale the Procurement Department in a mission-driven fast-paced environment:
1. Ownership of Procurement data quality for direct material and indirect services ensuring accuracy at all times.
2. Data management in the ERP system.
3. Work with the supplier and internal stakeholders to onboard suppliers, material item setup, and qualification process in compliance with the Procurement process.
4. Material and service analyses to validate data by item level to ensure correct input into the ERP system and to assist in the explanation and reconciliation of variance.
5. Achieving savings and tracking Procurement KPIs.
6. Daily commercial contract management to agreements.
7. Construct reports for the Procurement Manager.
8. Support RFQ administration tasks.
9. Compliance with Procurement policy and process.
10. Relationship building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment.
11. Ability to handle competing priorities and influence others to meet requirements.
Knowledge & Experience:
1. Technical, Procurement (IIPMM, CIPS), or Business qualification preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
3. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, analytics, and reporting.
4. Proven track record in a Procurement role is an advantage.
5. Strong experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP.
6. Experience working within a Procurement team and multiple stakeholders.
7. Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
8. Excellent ambassador for NBI, promoting the organisation and role modelling NBI's values.
