As a Data Scientist 2, this role is part of the data science team and work in support of Payment Integrity Decision Intelligence (PIDI) in building machine learning solutions and putting them in production. A successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of data analysis, statistical modelling and machine learning, data science experience in Python or similar languages, hands-on experience with state-of-the-art libraries and technologies in machine learning and data processing at scale, and a track record of working with cross functional teams to deliver data science solutions into production.
You will work with other data scientists and subject matter experts to conduct various analytic studies. As part of this team, you will be empowered to analyse data, identify opportunities of high-impact data-driven solutions to challenging problems, and build and deploy production-ready models.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities of a Data Scientist 2:
Research, interpret, and analyse diverse and complex data and communicate findings to business stakeholders.
Work with business stakeholders to develop and operationalize AI/ML solutions
Leverage big data analytics infrastructure comprising Python, Spark, Databricks and Snowflake to solve complex business problems in the healthcare domain.
Collaborate with fellow data scientists, business analysts, data engineers and subject matter experts to design and oversee the development of data science solutions.
Contribute to and engage with the innovation and patenting programmes.
Required Qualifications of a Data Scientist 2:
Bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics, physics, computer science, engineering, statistics, bioinformatics, actuarial science or similar.
Technical Skills:o Ability to clean, transform, and analyze data using programming languages such as Python or SQLo Experience with statistical modelling and machine learning techniques o Proficiency in data visualization and communication of results o Understanding of database management, data structures and modern big-data frameworks
Business Skills:o Understanding of business objectives and ability to translate them into data science projectso Familiarity with project management methodologies and ability to manage projects with clear timelines and deliverableso Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholderso Understanding of ethical considerations in data science and ability to apply them in practice
Interpersonal Skills:o Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environmento Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and toolso Attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks effectivelyo Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently to solve complex problemso Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications of a Data Scientist 2:
Masters or PhD in applied mathematics, physics, computer science, engineering, statistics, bioinformatics, actuarial science or similar.
Proficiency in Python/PySpark and other relevant environments.
Experience or knowledge with cloud-based data analytics such as Azure, Snowflake and Databricks
Experience in working with healthcare and/or temporal data.
Track record of designing and applying machine learning solutions for real world problems
