My client is seeking an experienced Company Accountant/ Finance Manager to join their established finance team in Cork.
The position will suit a Senior Company Accountant or SME Finance Manager who has prior experience in the manufacturing, engineering or services industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate financial and management accounts, managing key financial processes, and overseeing the work of junior accounts staff (on site and remote). The role offers an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant with industry experience to contribute to the success and growth of the organization.
Responsibilities:
* Produce timely and accurate financial and management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, revenue returns (VAT, PAYE, RCT) in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement, balance sheet, fixed asset register, and revenue reporting.
* Analyse variances to budget and conduct trend analysis making recommendations for cost improvements.
* Oversee the costing of contracts and projects to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness.
* Conduct stock valuations and manage cash flow forecasting to support business operations.
* Manage the completion of all finance-related activities and provide guidance on internal controls and policies.
* Coordinate with auditors and address any queries or issues related to financial statements and audits.
* Provide guidance and support to existing accounting staff.
* Collaborate with other departments to analyse financial data, support budgeting and financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience.
* Previous experience within Ireland's service industry and manufacturing environments adapting financial strategies to meet market demands.
* Proven ability to produce accurate financial statements and reports on a timely basis.
* Ability to think strategically and translate financial insights into actionable plans, contributing to business growth within the relevant market.
* Excellent communication skills, adept at engaging stakeholders at various levels, along with strong leadership and team management capabilities.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Curious and can-do attitude.
* Bright, eager to learn, and committed to personal and professional growth.
