Scope:
Reporting to and supporting the Chief People Officer (who sits on the firm’s Management and Executive Committees and reports to the Managing Partner), the HR Business Partner (HRBP) will support key Finance and Litigation Legal teams by actively engaging with the Head of Department and Practice Group Leads within their area, providing insight, advice and coaching on HR matters in support of the business strategy.
As a key member of the Human Resources Management team, success in this role will also be enabled through taking on responsibility for strategic HR projects and ownership for key people processes, aligned with the firms People Strategic Plan and all aspects of employees’ life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide Partners and managers with advice and guidance on best practice for all day to day related HR matters.
* Timely handling of all employee relation matters, ensuring correct disciplinary and grievance matters are handled sensitively and appropriately, adhering to the cultural norms and existing procedures.
* Implement the performance review process, ensuring that all partners and managers as well as employees are trained, supported and counselled throughout the process.
* Working with Partners and Heads of department to understand the talent needs, liaising with the recruitment team as necessary to ensure that the right talent and capabilities are in place.
* Act as a point of contact for Commercial department (Partners and employees) as it relates to key areas such as annual compensation planning, policy queries and management of exit interviews and appropriate follow up.
* Collaborate with the other members of the HR team. Provide support and guidance to others on the handling of challenging situations. Implement changes in HR policies and procedures as required.
* As a member of the HR team, lead plans to encourage staff engagement, create and implement long and short term incentive programmes.
* Manage ad hoc projects and responsibilities as provided by the Chief People Officer on an ongoing basis – for example continuous improvement of our Performance Management and Development cycle.
* Be proactive in identifying and implementing new initiatives that deliver process improvements and enhance the culture in the firm.
* Be a proactive and collaborative member of the HR team in supporting the development and oversight of our strategic People Agenda for the firm.
* Ensure the total employee experience for the firm is optimised through effective connection across our Trainee Management, Talent Acquisition, HR operations teams, providing support and feedback as needed.
Required skills and Expertise:
* Minimum 6 years' experience as a HRBP in a professional services or clients service delivery environment with a direct reporting line to senior management essential.
* You will have a high level of HR business partnering and advisory/ coaching experience, and be proficient in the skills of people management and programme delivery.
* Proven track record in shaping and delivering HR initiatives/projects in a professional services/consulting or large corporate environment.
* Demonstrable ability to influence senior leaders, nurturing and creating strong, productive and resilient relationships at all levels and across functions.
* Experienced in navigating complex and challenging situations - able to understand and problem-solve both operational and strategic issues through a diplomatic, pragmatic and commercially sound approach.
* Outstanding communication, presentation and representation skills - experienced in working with a wide range of senior stakeholders both internal and external.
* Creative, innovative, tenacious, energetic and highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence in pursuit of business growth and success.
* A high degree of proficiency in Microsoft windows suite.
* 3rd Level Qualification is essential, HR (including CIPD) being a distinct advantage
