Our client, a leading agricultural supplier, seeks an experienced Assistant Operations Manager.
The Role
* Operational: Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operational activities.
* Ensure smooth operations and compliance with best practices.
* Support the management of operational staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
People Management
* Help develop onsite personnel through training and support.
* Support the development of training practices to ensure all team members are aware of current best practice.
* Promote a positive and collaborative working environment.
Cost Control
* Knowledge of cost base improvements.
* Help manage the cost base and maximise opportunities for savings.
* Assist with maintaining port operational budgets within agreed limits.
Quality
* Manage company standards (ISO 9001) and ensure audit compliance.
* Be fully knowledgeable in these areas.
Team Management
* Motivate a diverse team in line with company standards.
* Plan and maintain high levels of communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Measurement
* Agree annual KPIs to ensure achievement of operational objectives.
* Analyse data to identify root causes of issues and implement corrective action plans.
Organisation
* Maintain administration and relevant reporting systems.
* Assist with implementing corporate policy and strategy.
