Role Profile The Head of Environment, Health & Safety reports to the Director of Q&C and is accountable for EHS standards, programs & policies, and the roll up reporting on those areas to ensure our operations are in compliance with current licence and regulatory requirements. The Head of Environment, Health & Safety works collaboratively with the Business to set out the Tirlan EHS compliance strategy and has responsibility for guiding the Business for the execution of the same. The Head of EHS also acts as the central liaison with external networks such as the EPA, HSA, Irish Water etc. This role supports the EHS Network teams across Tirlan, ensuring compliance with Tirln standards & continuous improvement. The Head of EHS will collaborate with key stakeholders to verify compliance through various means such as the SAQ process, compliance through the network 3M structure and TRMS etc. The Head of EHS also has a wider leadership role as part of the QSHE Leadership Team. Responsibilities Health and Safety First, Food Safety Always, Compliance Everyday to lead (develop & manage) the Zero Harm culture across Tirln and ensure a management led approach, embed a culture of continuous EHS improvement sharing and replication of best practice. Define & deploy the Tirln EHS Strategy, in conjunction with the functional leaders to support the achievement of the Companys EHS targets and objectives. Collaborate with all stakeholders to maintain compliance to EHS standards & regulations to ensure Tirln sites do not appear on the NPL and to ensure no Prohibition Notices issued to site from the HSA. Define EHS performance reporting standards and to work collaboratively to verify EHS Compliance to Tirln standards. Oversee EHS teams in monitoring EHS performance across Tirln in terms of adherence to KPIs, standards and legislation, reporting of key issues. Define EHS capabilities and competencies required for the EHS lead in each site, actively coach, facilitate lessons learned and drive for continuous improvement which considers external benchmark. Track and develop trends for common causes of incidents at plants, mills, retail branches and all other sites across Tirln, to inform and drive programmes for improved procedures. Develop and agree a common policy, standards, and procedures to ensure a consistent approach to EHS through Business Excellence Developing Tomorrow projects. Represent Tirln on external forums to gather industry insights and monitor new EHS compliance regulations to ensure they are incorporated in Tirln standards! Develop and co-lead the EHS IT Strategy and Organisational Reporting Programs. Oversee Tirln relations with the Health & Safety Authority and Environmental Protection Agency. Lead our Network Team of EHS Champions across all Tirln sites. Act as Tirln Risk Management system / program liaison and to influence and input into standard setting. Ensure key priority areas for EHS risk in the Business is captured and communicated. Represent EHS within the Tirln insurance programme including insurers visits and the claims management process. Support QSHE Covi (cost out value in) programme. Support & challenge root cause analysis for incidents in EHS. Key Requirements Engineering &/or Science based qualification. A high-calibre expertise with strong risk awareness and organisational savvy. Minimum 5+ years relevant work experience in an EHS role at a senior level. Experience in agricultural, food & dairy industries! Previous experience in Operations, Process / System Auditing, EHS Standards & Regulations Strong collaboration is a key success factor in the role across our entire business and with our external stakeholders.
