About the role Reporting to the Senior Estimator and as an integral part of the estimating team, you will be responsible for assisting to prepare accurate mechanical cost estimates in a timely manner.
You will become proficient in the use of cost estimating software with training provided.
You will work on tenders for projects such as Pharmaceuticals, Food & Beverage, Data Centres, Semi-Conductor, Commercial, etc across Ireland and the UK.
Responsibilities You will assist to: Conduct in-depth reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, etc Perform accurate quantity take-offs and mark up measured drawings Request, manage and evaluate supplier and sub-contractor quotations Issue tender queries and RFIs Prepare costed bill of quantities Prepare tender pricing schedules and other tender return documents Manage data base Attend meetings and site visits are when required Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and wider project teams Other related tasks as assigned Candidate Requirements Degree in either Mechanical, Process, Building Services Engineering or other related field Previous experience in a contracting environment is beneficial but not essential Strong computer skills especially in the use of MS Office Understanding of mechanical pipework systems, HVAC, plumbing and other mechanical building services systems Strong attention to detail Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines Must display excellent time management, communication, numerical, analytical and organisational skills Problem solving skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilities
