Overview
We are looking for a Java Developer to play a lead role in software design, architecture, requirements analysis, and software development to deliver support and maintenance of existing applications as well as development of new applications.
Responsibilities
* Responsibility for building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications
* Java application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing
* Work on every stage of the software development life cycle from concept to design testing; the role will entail a combination of both technical and business-related functions
* Programming of Java/J2EE components
* Completing assigned tasks related to phases of development lifecycle of enterprise applications within given scope and timeframe requirements
* Coding in adherence to the standards of the application in question
* Maintaining, tuning and repairing applications in order to keep them performing according to technical and functional specifications
* Performing preventive maintenance activities
* Providing user support
* Integration of technical and application components to meet business requirements
* Writing and execution of unit and integration test plans
* Incident resolution
* Ensure production releases are compliant with Department’s release management standards
* Conducting development code reviews to ensure adherence to JAVA coding standards
* Organisation of skill/knowledge transfer and mentoring of team members to Department staff
Qualifications
* BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
