Total Care Recruitment is seeking full-time Band 3 Support Workers for Children's Disability Respite Services across the Southeastern Trust.
Job Summary
The post holder will be a member of the care staff who will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in delivering best quality care to children who avail of this service. They will assist in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the provision of care for children with physical or learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviour.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
* NISCC Registration
* Use evidence-based practice to support continuous improvement within the service
* Coordinate effective and holistic care in a multi-professional setting
* Contribute to improving effective care using an outcomes approach
* Lead by example in promoting high standards of care to ensure a quality service
This includes supporting young people with physical and emotional care needs.
* Demonstrate commitment through regular attendance, efficient completion of duties, and participation in department/team work activities
* Assist in assessing care for children who use this specific service
* Help in planning care using person-centered planning
* Implement care for individuals and client groups using the person-centered approach
* Maintain good communication with patients/clients and relatives/carers to ensure their individual needs are met and address any issues identified
* Monitor and report on client progress and maintain accurate and up-to-date records
Essential Criteria
* An NVQ Level 2 in care and 1 year's experience working with support families
* A NVQ Level 3 in Care
* Two years' relevant experience working with children and families
* NISCC Registration
* A current full driving license and access to a car on appointment
* Good communication and crisis skills in dealing with challenging behaviour and working with families
* Skills and knowledge to work with children with disabilities and challenging behaviour
You will also need to complete an Enhanced Access NI application. Total Care Recruitment adheres to the Access NI Code of Practice.
