Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Physiotherapist to support the delivery of our service across South Cumbria.
The role will cover across South Cumbria, with bases available in Furness and Westmorland General Hospitals.
You will have the unique opportunity to influence change as we continue to develop our admission avoidance services inclusive of 2 hour urgent community response, virtual ward and rapid response.
Main Duties of the Job
* Deliver high-quality urgent care.
* Strengthen care plans delivered from senior triage and assessments.
* Assess and treat conditions within patients' own homes.
* Plan and implement person-centred care, focusing on frailty syndromes and Respiratory conditions.
* Help improve outcomes for patients and patient experience.
* Improve system working across acute, community, and social care settings.
* Share knowledge and skills.
* Work autonomously and engage in cross-boundary working.
Person Specification
* Honours Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy approved by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy/Health and Care Professions Council.
* State registration with Health and Care Professionals Council HCPC.
* Evidence of relevant postgraduate specialist clinical education.
* Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
* Postgraduate training or experience to postgraduate diploma level or equivalent.
* Accredited Practice Placement Educator's qualification (or willingness to attain within 2 years).
Experience
* Relevant post-registration experience as a physiotherapist to achieve knowledge and skills applicable to this post.
* Comprehensive rotational experience as a therapist in core competencies within Physiotherapy.
* Experience of working within a team and as an autonomous practitioner.
* Experience of research or audit and working with patients with Respiratory Conditions/Chest Physiotherapy.
* Experience of assessing and prescribing aids and minor adaptations.
Skills, Ability, Knowledge
* Transferable knowledge and skills at basic practitioner level with aptitude to develop to specialist OT/Physiotherapist level.
* Ability to analyse professional and ethical issues and work under pressure.
* Written and oral communication skills in English sufficient to communicate effectively with patients.
* Good interpersonal skills, application and understanding of policies and procedures.
* Good team working, evidence of Continuing Professional Development, and willingness to cross boundary work.
* Ability to meet physical requirements of the post and participate in manual handling tasks.
