Senior Estimator - Building Contractor

You will be reporting to the Estimating Director and joining a leading Irish building main contractor committed to the highest standards of safety, quality & sustainability, with an earned reputation for delivering outstanding quality projects.
The role involves:
1. Preparation of tender submissions for major construction projects.
2. Working as part of the tender bid team in conjunction with the Technical and Project Coordination Departments to thoroughly scrutinise project tender requirements.
3. Review scope, assess costing requirements, and analyze data received in preparation of tender cost submissions.
4. Review and assess tender documentation including interpreting drawings, specifications, reports, and general scope of works requirements.
5. Preparation of in-house tender review presentations.
6. Attendance at site visits to appraise new projects as part of the tender bid process.
7. Preparation of consultant, subcontractor, and material packages for pricing using the latest estimating software.
8. Review and preparation of consultant, subcontractor, and materials cost analysis for cost comparison purposes.
9. Measurement of work as required in accordance with ARM 4 and updates.
10. Continuous management of tender documents.
11. Preparation of tender queries and management of mid-tender clarifications/addendums.
12. Preparation and pricing of tender documents.
13. Identification of project risks, management, and pricing of the same.
14. Establishment of opportunities for alternatives and value engineering proposals.
15. Pricing and review of preliminaries for sign off.
16. Completion and submission of tenders in accordance with Instructions to Tender.
17. Correspondence with design team/tendering authority during and post tender.
18. Preparation of project handover reports including collation of necessary and associated documentation.
19. Liaising with Project QS and Construction Team to review pricing strategies, quotes, and budgets.
20. Preparation and maintenance of estimating data for reports and tender applications.
21. Assisting the Bid Technical Manager in the preparation of tender applications and works proposals.
22. Assisting in the preparation of cost plans, expressions of interest, and presentations to clients and design teams.
23. Building relations and maintaining the same with existing and potential clients and design teams.
24. Continually reviewing and improving tender bid procedures.
Requirements:
1. Relevant diploma or degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction related discipline.
2. 7+ years experience in Building Construction Estimating / Tendering with main contractors.
3. Good ability to read drawings, specifications, and reports with the capability to assess issues and risks.
4. Clear and concise communicator with an aptitude for problem solving and thinking outside the box.
5. Capable of working on own initiative and as part of a team.
6. Able to work accurately and efficiently while managing own time to meet critical deadlines.
7. Proficient in Word and Excel; knowledge of Conquest is a plus.
8. Hold a valid driving licence.
