The Opportunity The National Sales Manager is a high profile leadership role within the UK division and will report to the Head of UK.
The successful candidate will be highly capable of leading and developing sales strategies through effectively creating and coaching a high performing sales team in order to achieve set sales, revenue and margin targets.
Sales will be achieved through selling the Chanelle product mix range to a broad range of end customers, including buying groups, independent and corporates veterinary practices as well as trade and pet customers.
This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have strong negotiation skills, excellent technical ability and demonstrable team leadership and coaching prowess.
The candidate will also have strong internal relationship and stakeholder management skills allowing them to keep well connected with multiple head office departments to ensure relevant and timely execution of projects into the UK market via the sales team.
Key Responsibilities Drive sales and margin objectives by translating the sales budget into specific strategic sales plans for each individual territory made up of corporate vet groups, buying groups and independent vet and trade customers.
Lead through others; by assigning work, monitoring activities and evaluating performance against KPIs through adherence of regular one to ones.
Lead the team in developing creative and insightful territory business plans covering customer demographics, performance, potential, actionable items, tracking and reporting for the territories individually and overall.
Work cross-functionally to agree technical and marketing activities that should be implemented into specific sales campaigns for end customers.
Develop and maintain own product portfolio knowledge expertise and ensure the same for the BDMs (Business Development Managers).Work closely with the business ops and finance team in head office to ensure customer contracts and rebate agreements are kept in place and up to date.
Develop and maintain an extensive network of contacts across the Veterinary & Trade industries positioning Chanelle Pharma as a 'partner of choice' for new business opportunities.
Demonstrate success in key sales metrics through effective use of the CRM and measuring conversion rates by analysing reports and managing outcomes.
Liaise with the local management team in the preparation and presentation of long-range plans, budgets and forecasts in line with company and customer requirements.
Oversee and contribute to the development of tender and pricing proposals for strategic large customers to deliver competitive and successful outcomes whilst also aligning with margin expectations.
When required, update senior business leaders of progress toward strategic goals and provide necessary management reports.
Dual calling and coach BDMs to allow on the job development and support them when visiting more strategic customers.
Work closely with the Strategic accounts team to ensure tender outcomes, promotions, compliance and any MTO campaigns are supported by the BDM team where appropriate.
Lead at sales meetings and oversee event plans for the team.
Qualifications & Competencies Management level experience working within animal health – (essential).Experience in building and leading a high performing sales team.
Effectively demonstrates what it means to be a change agent, continuous learner, and pushing self / others to overachieve.
Experience in leading tenders and commercial negotiations directly with key accounts and proven high level sales ability (essential).Previous demonstrable success in a people leadership role with an ability to inspire a sales team (essential).A good understanding of modern leadership approaches, establishing high performing teams and providing feedback and coaching (essential).Adaptable and comfortable at working in highly fluid, complex, and ever-changing environments.

Willingness to travel throughout the UK regularly and make infrequent visits to our Head Office in Loughrea.
