Development Officer
Job Objective:
1. Working on the delivery of the LEADER Programme for Donegal Islands.
2. Ensure clear communication with project promoters.
3. Assess the eligibility of project proposals for grant assistance.
4. Ensure compliance with operating rules and EU regulations.
5. Preparation of project documentation and evaluations for Evaluation Committees.
6. Present applications at the Evaluation Committee & Local Action Group (LAG) meetings in Donegal and evaluate applications.
7. Monitor project progress and provide assistance after grant award.
8. Assist in the implementation of the Local Development Strategy for Donegal Islands.
9. Help organise workshops/training/other events on the Donegal Islands.
There is a possibility that additional hours could be available working on other programmes over time.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Experience and/or relevant qualification in rural/community development.
2. Fluency in Irish is essential for this position, including good writing skills in Irish.
3. Knowledge of the Irish Islands.
Personal Specification & Qualifications:
1. Good interpersonal and communication skills and a knowledge of rural or island issues/concerns.
2. Experience of working in community organisations in a professional and/or voluntary capacity.
3. Experience of project administration, recording and reporting on progress, and maintaining records/accounts.
4. Ability to work on his/her own initiative and also to work in close association with key agencies and individuals.
Salary: Starting at €34,527 pro rata, depending on experience and qualifications.
