Finance Officer (Part Time)
We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Officer to join our team in Belfast. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of financial tasks, including payroll processing, accounts payable and management of the petty cash system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Process monthly payroll, ensuring timely payment of salaries and allowances, and accurate deductions, including PAYE, NIC, SSP, SMP, childcare vouchers and pension schemes.
* Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements, including RTI, auto-enrolment, year-end submissions and P11d's.
* Provide payroll assistance as required, including provision of previous payslips and maternity leave calculations.
* Post invoices for purchase ledger, ensuring authorisation and proper accounting.
* Maintain Purchase Order System and code/in input invoices onto the purchase ledger.
* Prepare regular supplier payment runs and reconcile bank, credit card and mobile phone bills.
* Deal with suppliers to resolve queries and process staff and volunteer expenses.
* Manage the organisation-wide petty cash system, including top-ups, reconciliation and audit process.
Requirements:
* A relevant financial qualification (AAT, IATI or part-qualified) with at least 2 years' experience in a similar finance role, using computerised accounting systems.
* Or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within a finance function, using computerised accounting systems.
* Demonstrable experience of preparation and maintenance of a nominal ledger.
* Experience of general ledger, including journal preparation.
* Demonstrable experience of control accounts and reconciliation.
* Demonstrable experience of processing Payroll.
* Proven ability to manipulate data to produce meaningful information.
* Proven analytical & numerical skills.
* Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with staff at all levels.
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel, databases, spreadsheets, word-processing, e-mail and internet.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience of using SAGE 50 Payroll software.
* Experience of working with an organisation with multiple funding streams/funding income streams.
