Job Description
Duties
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
Civic Trust House, a 300-year-old historic building and home to various arts organisations, is seeking a dependable and attentive Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness and integrity of this unique space. The role involves cleaning and caring for a building with great historical value, ensuring that all areas are pristine and welcoming for both staff and visitors. A positive attitude and respect for the delicate fabric of the building are essential. We are committed to sustainability and use only environmentally safe cleaning products as part of our environmental policy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Offices:
o Empty bins in office areas.
o Vacuum floors and clean surfaces (desks, countertops, etc.).
2. Meeting Rooms:
o Clean and prepare meeting rooms for events and meetings, including polishing glass table.
3. Stairs and Hallways:
o Vacuum stair carpets and clean stairs.
o Dust hallways and keep all floors vacuumed and clear.
4. General Maintenance:
o Empty bins in common areas (bathrooms, kitchen, reception).
o Ensure wheelie bins are put out for collection.
o Tidy the area outside the front of the building, clear rubbish, and tend to plants.
5. Kitchen Area:
o Clean the sink, water heater, countertops, and set the dishwasher.
o Steam clean kitchen floors at regular intervals.
6. Bathrooms:
o Clean toilets, sinks, mirrors, and other bathroom surfaces.
o Replenish soap, paper products, and bathroom supplies.
o Change towels and steam clean bathroom floors.
7. Stock Control:
o Monitor and advise Reception staff when cleaning, kitchen, and bathroom supplies are running low.
8. Additional Tasks:
o Occasionally supervise entry into the building for named individuals, if specifically requested.
o Complete any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.
Ideal Candidate
1. Work Style: Ability to work independently and take initiative.
2. Availability: Preferably available for early morning shifts, three days a week.
3. Attention to Detail: A careful approach is essential, especially when working within the historic structure of the building.
