Bon Secours Hospital Limerick at Barringtons are pleased to invite applications for the position of Clinical Nurse Specialist, Urology.The Clinical Nurse Specialist, Urology will play a pivotal role in service planning, development and coordinating and managing activity and resources within the urology service. They will provide clinical leadership and promotion of the mission & values of the hospital.Bon Secours Health System is developing a new 150 bed medical facility in Ballysimon to the east of Limerick City. Building works are nearing completion with a plan to open this new state-of-the-art hospital in 2025. This commitment will see the expansion of surgical specialties currently delivered by Bon Secours Hospital Limerick at Barringtons, plus the addition of cardiology, MAU and other medical services.Post: Full-time permanent positionHours of work: 37.5 hours per week. Flexibility on hours of attendance in response to service needs and management requirements will be a key element of this role.Remuneration: €60,854-76,897 LSI. (Commensurate with experience)Our competitive compensation and benefits package is continually reviewed and adjusted in line with market trends.Essential Eligibility Criteria:Be registered in the General Division of register of Nurses held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).A minimum of 5 years post registration experience in an acute hospital setting, in the last 5 years.A minimum of 12 months relevant experience in the specialist care of Urology patients in a fast-paced environment.Hold a relevant Post Graduate Clinical Qualification in UrologyDesirable Criteria:Strong ‘people management’ and change management experience.Role Responsibilities of the post include, and are not limited to:Manage the activities of the urology service from initial consultation to pre assessment and discharge, liaising with the Consultants, Nursing Staff and all other health care professionals and support services.Communicate results of assessments, treatment / care programmes and recommendations to the team and relevant others in accordance with service policy as required.To assess, report and respond to complaints from patients and relatives within a reasonable or required timeframe.Participate in the identification, development and delivery of induction, education, training and development programmes for nursing and healthcare staff and support staff.Exercise authority and co-ordinate the functions of the urology services for e.g. but not limited to Bladder instillations, Urodynamic pressure flow and uroflow testing, female and male catheterisation, self-catheterisation training and Lithotripsy service.Provide staff leadership and motivation which is conducive to good working relations and work performance.Participate and play a leadership role in the Hospitals accreditation processes (e.g. JCI and HIQA) and other quality management systems in the BSHS to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards for the urology service.Foster and grow effective working relationships between and across the BSHS and the relevant services in primary, community and continuing care settings at regional and local level.Informal enquiries to: Bernadette Carroll, Director of Nursing – bcarroll@bonsecours.ie Closing date for receipt of applications is 5pm on Thursday 03rd April 2025.
