This position is based in Ireland, and you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across various phases of Data Centre design and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities Mechanical Design: Develop and implement detailed mechanical system designs, including HVAC, cooling systems, piping, and fire protection systems, tailored to data centre requirements.
Project Management: Oversee project timelines, ensuring designs are delivered within budget and meet client specifications.
Standards Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, industry standards, and sustainability practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with architects, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical designs seamlessly into the overall project framework.
Innovation: Identify opportunities to incorporate cutting-edge technologies and energy-efficient solutions into designs.
Technical Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports, drawings, and specifications using CAD and BIM software.
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve technical challenges during the design and construction phases.
Qualifications and Skills Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in Mechanical Design engineering.
Prior experience in the Data Centre or mission-critical sector is highly advantageous.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and BIM (e.g., Revit) tools.
Knowledge of HVAC systems, heat load calculations, and thermal management principles.
Familiarity with sustainability and energy efficiency practices, including LEED or BREEAM certifications.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is a plus
