Were seeking a motivated and detail-orientedJunior Security Engineer to support our client in the financial services sector.
This 8-month fixed-term role is ideal for someone early in their cybersecurity career, looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, regulated environment.
You'll be working alongside experienced security professionals, contributing to the protection of critical systems and data.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in monitoring and maintaining security tools (SIEM, endpoint protection, firewalls, etc.)
Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist with remediation tracking Support in the investigation of security alerts and incidents Help document security processes, procedures, and technical reports Assist with identity and access management reviews and onboarding/offboarding processes Work closely with IT and compliance teams to ensure alignment with security policies Stay up to date on the latest cybersecurity trends and threats Skills & Experience: 12 years of experience in IT or security-related roles (internships or placement considered) Basic understanding of security principles, networking, and common vulnerabilities Familiarity with tools like SIEM, antivirus, vulnerability scanners, etc.
Exposure to Windows and/or Linux system administration is a plus Good analytical and troubleshooting skills Strong communication and documentation abilities Desirable Qualifications: A degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field Security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, SSCP, or similar) are a bonus Experience in financial services or regulated environments is a plus Whats on Offer: 8-month fixed-term contract with a leading financial services organisation Hybrid working model (based in Dublin) Collaborative, learning-focused team environment Valuable exposure to enterprise security practices in a regulated industry Skills: siem antivirus Linux
