Job Description: Assistant Resident Engineer
AtkinsRealis is one of the world’s leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland.
We are seeking to recruit a Assistant Resident Engineer for a site-based role in the Northwest Region area/Galway. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience in roads/civils infrastructure projects. The role will involve site-based supervision, administration, monitoring, and inspection of bridge maintenance and rehabilitation works in the northwest region of Ireland.
Job summary and desirable skills / attributes:
* Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* A minimum of 3+ years relevant experience in the design, repair or construction of relevant structures.
* Experience in structure inspections is advantageous.
* Experience in administering contracts using the Public Works form of contracts is an advantage.
* Support the Resident Engineering staff in day-to-day activities on site.
* Experience in monitoring and inspection of construction works related to roadworks including pavement, drainage, ducting, signage, lighting, safety barriers, bridgeworks, etc.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Experience in record keeping and reporting.
* Ability to work within a team and independently to achieve project goals.
* Knowledge of current H&S regulations and best practices.
* Full driving license.
* Computer literate, with experience in relevant software (AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office.
