Job Purpose
To work as part of the Transitions Optical team as Process Technician, you will be required to provide timely technical process support often working under your own initiative. You will support key projects at both a local and sometimes at a global level.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monitor and control production process to ensure product is manufactured within specification.
2. Administer all line set up and product changeovers and perform minor repairs on equipment.
3. Accurately update internal production reporting system.
4. Assist investigations of quality problems and ensure compliance with the Quality Management System.
5. Execute process trials or lab experiments as required.
6. Maintain and update OCAP system for corrective actions.
7. Monitor production area and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures/ISO documentation.
8. Support root cause analysis within scope of the role.
9. Perform process maintenance on equipment and maintain records.
10. Participate in pre-shift meetings if requested.
11. Ensure clear, effective, and concise communications.
12. Report quality-related concerns to your immediate supervisor.
13. Support R&D activities as required.
14. Maintain a clean & safe working area at all times.
15. Assist in the training of new personnel.
16. Make required adjustments to equipment to ensure efficiency.
Key Requirements
1. Level 7 qualification in science, chemistry or a related engineering discipline desirable but not essential.
2. 3 years working experience on a high volume production line.
3. Ability to identify problems and evaluate options.
4. Willing to work different shifts or provide additional cover if required.
5. Experience of working within a pressurised environment.
6. Experience of identifying and delivering Continuous Improvement initiatives.
7. Awareness of quality and current Good Manufacturing Practice.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
9. Can demonstrate strong team working and team building abilities.
