Responsibilities Help with team management, coordination, and organisation.
This involves making certain that employees are adhering to procedures, providing high-quality treatment, and fulfilling legal requirements.
Creating Procedures and Policies.
The chosen candidate will assist in developing, putting into practice, and updating policies and processes to guarantee both regulatory compliance and high standards of care.
In order to keep the staff members abreast of best practices, the ADON will supervise their professional growth and training.
They frequently aid with staffing decisions, making ensuring the facility has enough employees to satisfy residents' needs and setting up schedules to avoid shortages or fatigue.
To make sure person-centred care satisfies set standards, the ADON will keep an eye on it.
This entails carrying out audits, going over incident reports, and attempting to address any problems about the security or contentment of the inhabitants.
They do administrative duties and other responsibilities assigned by the DON, including managing finances, attending meetings, and speaking on behalf of the nursing home when the DON is not there.
They will also be in charge of addressing grievances, interacting with people and their relatives, and making sure their requirements are satisfied.
Requirements Have full registration with The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
Have a minimum of 3 years post-registration experience of nursing older people within the previous 6 years.
Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a management capacity in the health and social care area.
Demonstrate sound knowledge and clinical nursing practice together with future trends in elder care.
Hold a post registration management qualification in health or a related field.
A management qualification or Higher Diploma in Gerontology is desirable but not essential.
Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
Possess ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members, team members, management and external bodies e.g.
HIQA, HSE, GPs etc.
ADON experience would be an added advantage.
