Job Title: Welder (Public Sector)
This position is being filled by VANRATH, a recruitment agency assisting a large Public Sector Organisation in finding a skilled Welder for an initial 3-month period with the possibility of extension.
The successful candidate will be based primarily at the Portadown site and will be responsible for undertaking various welding tasks associated with building maintenance and refurbishment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake all welding work related to building maintenance and refurbishment, including cutting, joining, and bending materials.
* Perform ARC welding as required and utilise mechanized systems such as metal inert gas welding.
* Weld components in vertical, flat, and overhead positions.
* Analyse site-specific drawings and take detailed measurements from site visits to aid fabrication.
* Read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
* Provide quality customer service and maintain good customer relationships on behalf of the client.
* Ensure the health and safety of tenants, particularly vulnerable ones, when working in occupied properties.
* Liaise with customers to arrange appointments, access arrangements, and discuss work requirements.
Requirements:
* Applicants must provide evidence by the application deadline that they meet the following essential criteria:
* Have successfully completed an apprenticeship in Welding (either time served or skills-based).
* Have a minimum of one year's relevant post-apprenticeship experience working in a welding environment.
* Demonstrate practical knowledge and understanding of current Health and Safety requirements and legislation in a maintenance/repair environment.
* Possess a full, current driving licence to enable the post holder to carry out required duties.
