Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Social Care Worker to join our team in a Special Care Unit in North Dublin.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, trauma-informed care to children and young people requiring intensive therapeutic intervention in a secure residential environment.
About the Role
* Supporting young people with complex needs to achieve positive personal development, stability, and safety within the care setting.
* Implementing therapeutic care plans and behaviour management strategies to help children achieve stability and improved wellbeing.
* Responding effectively to challenging behaviour, utilizing trauma-informed and evidence-based techniques.
Responsibilities
* Assess, plan, and deliver personalized care plans in collaboration with other professionals.
* Maintaining detailed records of interactions, incidents, and progress, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with Tusla's guidelines and policies.
* Responding to emergencies and incidents promptly, maintaining a calm, controlled presence in high-stress situations.
* Using de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts or crises, ensuring the safety and security of all residents and staff.
Requirements
* A minimum QQI Level 7 qualification in Social Care, Social Work, Youth Work, or a related discipline.
* Prior experience in a residential or therapeutic setting, ideally working with children or young people with complex needs.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills; strong resilience and ability to work under pressure.
* Right to Work in Ireland (EU passport or IRP - 1 G or 4)
