Ayvens Insurance is seeking a detail-oriented Risk & Controls Accountant to join its finance team. The role will report to the Head of Finance Operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, experience in compliance or financial controls, and a good understanding of the regulatory environment within the insurance industry.
Responsibilities
* Monitor and report risks and controls within the finance team.
* Assist in the documentation, testing, and improvement of financial and operational controls in line with regulatory, group, and company requirements.
* Perform periodic risk assessments and contribute to control enhancements.
* Assist in the preparation of regulatory returns and financial reporting compliance reviews.
* Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and responses.
* Assist in drafting and maintaining policies related to governance, risk, and compliance.
* Keep up to date with changes to the regulatory and compliance standards.
* Work with finance, actuarial, risk, and IT teams to enhance systems and processes and improve compliance efficiency.
* Design and implement training programmes for finance staff.
* Collaborate with stakeholders in the Ayvens and Societe Generale Groups as required.
* Track and monitor operational and financial risk incidents and risk metrics.
* Perform ad-hoc duties within the finance team.
Knowledge / Skills
* Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
* Experience working with risk and control frameworks within a regulated environment.
* Understanding of the regulatory environment within the insurance industry.
* Attention to detail with a desire to continually improve.
* Self-starter and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
* Advanced Microsoft Office user, with familiarity with reporting and visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI).
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise tasks.
* Team player that interacts well with both team members and other stakeholders.
* Strong communication and a collaborative mindset.
