CREGG Recruitment are currently hiring Controls/Automation Technicians to work onsite with a leading medical device multinational client in Cork, Ireland.
Electricians with a solid grasp of PLCs/HMI/Scada are encouraged to apply.
About the Job:
* Shift Work: Monday to Wednesday (6am-6pm) for 4 weeks and then alternates Thursday to Saturday (6am-6pm) for 4 weeks.

The reason for these roles is due to continued expansion and a site-wide drive for automation of existing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Effective completion and ongoing review of planned equipment maintenance routines.
* Ensure all executed maintenance activities are recorded on PEMAC maintenance system.
* Minimise downtime on Equipment, through fast response, effective root cause analysis and good problem-solving techniques.
* Effective analysis and elimination of recurring equipment problems.
* Take lead on Identification, quantification, implementation, and presentation of equipment continuous improvement projects.
* Co-ordinate and communicate high-impacting equipment/safety issues.
Key Requirements:
* Must be highly proficient in Allen Bradley PLCs, Electrical (including high voltage), PC software & hardware, Parker motion control, and vacuum systems.
* Strong interpersonal and communication/presentation skills.
* Ability to work on own with minimum supervision.
* A proven history of controls systems debug & upgrade work.
* Very strong manufacturing equipment electrical troubleshooting experience.
* Strong PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen Bradley, going online, stepping through code, etc).
* Strong automation experience (motion control, vision systems, robotics, mechanical, etc).
* PC hardware/software troubleshooting experience would be advantageous.
* A good knowledge of electronics and software-controlled systems.
