Job Description: Senior Policy Officer Hours: Full-time Reporting to: Head of Services Location: Based in Dublin Salary: €50,031€61,118 Role Overview Peter McVerry Trust is a national housing and homeless charity committed to reducing homelessness and the harm caused by substance misuse and social disadvantage. The Senior Policy Officer will join the Corporate Services team, supporting PMVT to achieve its operational and strategic vision through the successful implementation of the services we deliver. The role involves supporting multiple projects and initiatives, contributing to policy development, research, and reporting, and collaborating with various departments. Responsibilities Policy Development & Compliance Assess and improve current policies; establish a review plan. Monitor national policy developments and integrate best practices. Ensure policies are well-researched, accurate, and up-to-date. Use the CRM system to create evidence-based policies. Monitor the implementation of policies across PMVT services. Project manage the policy lifecycle for timely delivery. Dissemination Develop training materials and communicate policy changes. Implement and manage a Policy Management System, including a policy library and engagement tracking. Support committees with minute-taking and document management. Ensure policies are inclusive of individuals with additional needs. Reporting & Analysis Develop data systems for real-time policy insights. Analyze data to identify trends and improvement areas. Draft reports, proposals, and guidelines. Prepare presentations and briefings for stakeholders. Conduct desktop research and track project milestones. Provide monthly reports and executive-level documentation. General Duties Organize meetings, conferences, and events. Represent PMVT at external events and foster collaborations. Provide administrative support to the Senior Management Team. Undertake additional duties as required. Experience and Skills Required Essential: Degree (Level 8 NFQ) in social policy or a related discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience in policy development or research in the non-profit/social sector. Strong knowledge of legislation, national policy, and regulatory frameworks. Proven track record in policy and research implementation. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to PMVT's ethos and values. Desirable: Relevant professional membership accreditation. Experience in implementing Policy Management Systems. Experience in a social housing environment. Full driving license and mobility.
