Role Overview
We are looking for a Technical Delivery Manager to lead and support our software development team working on ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, and JavaScript. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, and a deep understanding of Kanban / Scrum methodologies. This role is a mix of technical leadership, process optimisation, and people management, ensuring high-quality software delivery while fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Delivery Management
* Oversee the end-to-end technical delivery of software solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Work closely with developers to provide technical guidance and unblock issues as needed.
* Ensure the architecture, design, and development practices align with best practices in ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, and JavaScript.
* Collaborate with product managers to prioritise and refine work items on the Kanban board.
* Drive continuous improvements in code quality, security, and performance.
Process & Agile Workflow Management
* Own and optimise Kanban processes, ensuring smooth flow of work with minimal bottlenecks.
* Leverage Azure DevOps for backlog management, tracking progress, and reporting on delivery metrics.
* Facilitate stand-ups, retrospectives, and planning sessions to keep the team aligned and focused.
* Identify and mitigate delivery risks, ensuring predictable software releases.
* Encourage a culture of continuous improvement in team workflows, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
People & Team Leadership
* Provide mentorship and coaching to developers, helping them grow in their careers.
* Foster a collaborative, transparent, and high-performing team culture.
* Conduct performance reviews and one-on-one meetings to support individual development.
* Work closely with stakeholders to ensure expectations are managed and met.
* Champion a DevOps mindset, encouraging automation, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in technical leadership or delivery management in a software development environment.
* Strong hands-on knowledge of ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, and JavaScript.
* Experience with Azure DevOps for backlog management, CI/CD, and reporting.
* Deep understanding of Kanban principles and lean software development.
* Strong ability to balance technical, business, and people management priorities.
* Experience driving quality, security, and performance improvements in software products.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have
* Experience with cloud-based architectures (Azure, AWS, or similar).
* Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js).
* Knowledge of microservices and API-driven development.
* Experience with scaling teams and improving delivery metrics.
