Job Description:
Role Overview:
The Warehouse Operative is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials within the warehouse, maintaining a focus on high operational standards in safety, quality, and organization, in line with the values and culture of the company. Shift: 4 days on and 4 days off, 12-hour shifts: 7am - 7pm and 11am - 11pm rotating. Shifts will be rostered for mid week and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Comply with all company guidelines, policies, and procedures.
2. Complete tasks according to training and established procedures.
3. Follow reasonable instructions from supervisors and management.
4. Operate all Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) safely and as per training.
5. Conduct equipment checks before use and report any issues immediately.
6. Ensure all goods are properly prepared and inspected for loading and unloading.
7. Follow Goods In and Goods Out procedures, ensuring all checks are carried out and recorded.
8. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
9. Complete all relevant documentation accurately and promptly.
10. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly checks as required.
11. Ensure adherence to inventory control protocols.
12. Organize materials in the racking system, ensuring everything is secure, tidy, and easy to locate.
13. Assist with the induction and training of new warehouse staff, emphasizing company culture and teamwork.
14. Contribute to creating a positive work environment that reflects company values.
15. Support and collaborate with other departments as necessary to meet operational needs.
16. Maintain safety and cleanliness standards to ensure the facility is always ready for inspection.
Emergency Response & Business Continuity:
1. Be part of the emergency response team.
2. Attend all required Emergency Response Training (ERT) sessions.
3. Become proficient in the use of Breathing Apparatus sets.
4. Participate in Emergency Response Drills and contribute to on-site incident management.
5. Ensure emergency response equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
