The Project
The successful candidate will work on Murphy Water projects in the Midlands and North Leinster.

The Role
Murphy Water is hiring an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to commission and maintain Water and Wastewater projects across the country.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established contractor with a strong focus on employee development and retention.
The successful candidate will join the Murphy Water engineering business within the Automation & Operations Department, reporting to the Operations & Maintenance Manager.

Key Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Operations Manager, onsite inspection and maintenance of PLC-based electrical control systems and instrumentation
* Maintain and diagnose faults in mains power connections, power generators, MCC's, transformers, motor starters, VSDs & DOLs, electric actuators, instrumentation (Level Pressure, Flow & analytical)
* Electrical equipment onsite commissioning, coordinating with operations personnel to achieve compliance
* Fault diagnostics and modification to existing electrical control and automation systems
* Monitoring and optimisation of instrumentation, PLC's, and electrical control systems
* Preparation of technical specifications and supervision of sub-contractors
* Checking electrical and instrumentation control panel wiring schematics

Requirements
* Candidate must be qualified with an Electrical or Electrical Instrumentation National Craft Certificate or equivalent
* Full, clean driving license
* Motivated, self-starter with excellent communication skills
* Minimum 5 years of electrical experience in an electrical & instrumentation role
* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
* Experience within the Water / Wastewater industry is a distinct advantage
